Scope

1. Scope 1.1 The Standard provides the basic framework for ensuring that equipment used in nuclear power plants can be assured of operating for all the conditions that it would normally experience during its specified life. Normal life would include all those conditions expected for normal operation, startup, shutdown, reduced power operation, and sustained high power operation. The standard will support maintenance, obsolescence, refurbishment, and new build. 1.2 This standard is intended to provide a consistent approach across the industry to establish equipment requirements for normal operation, AOO, and DBA conditions for equipment specific applications. 1.3 This Standard will address key regulatory and industry issues, including equipment specifications that represent best industry practices.
