Scope
CSA Group will administer a consensus-based process to facilitate the advancement of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) PSM standard into a National Standard of Canada (NSC). The scope of the new NSC for PSM will directly align with the scope and complexity of the CSChE PSM standard, which will act as a seed document for this project. No major additions are expected further to the scope of the CSChE seed document.

This standard will not include the incorporation of CSChE PSM Guide or the CSChE Process Safety Management Standard Audit Protocol into the NSC, either in the body of the standard or as an appendix.  They will continue as the intellectual property of the CSChE, and may be updated as necessary to reflect the CSA PSM Standard.

The new PSM NSC will be developed with input from the CSChE and subject matter experts. A Technical Committee (TC) will be assembled, applying a balanced matrix (e.g., government, academia, etc) approach, to review and revise the draft seed document. The subject matter experts will participate on the TC to gain agreement of the content of the draft standard
