This document specifies minimum requirements for water to be used in haemodialysis and related therapies.

This document includes water to be used in the preparation of concentrates, dialysis fluids for haemodialysis, haemodiafiltration and haemofiltration, and for the reprocessing of haemodialysers

This will meet the strategic needs of the following key interests: a) providing recommendations for the quality of dialysis fluid; b) setting forth quality requirements for the water and concentrates used to prepare dialysis fluid; c) ensuring that dialysis patients have safer water and concentrates used in their treatments; d) protecting healthcare professionals who are responsible for the care of the dialysis patient; e) ensuring that the latest innovative/technology/safety features are available for users, and f) addressing needs of regulators by providing suitable requirements
