Scope

This Standard covers portable and permanently mounted power pedestals rated up to 200 A and 600 V or less, and installed in accordance with CE Code, Part I. These pedestals may include locking and non-locking receptacles up to 60 A, communication connectors, power monitoring equipment (meter based) and branch circuits including over-current protective devices, such as fuses and circuit breakers.

This power pedestals may be used for indoor and outdoor applications, such as industrial and commercial, parking lots, marinas, RV sites (camp grounds), carnival sites.

This standard does not cover cord reels and multi-outlet assemblies, which are already covered in CSA C22.2 No. 308 standard.

This Standard does not cover portable power equipment, which is already covered in CSA C22.2 No. 300 standard.

Project Need
To develop safety requirements for power pedestals; there is currently no standard for such products in Canada. This is a regional standard to provide industry with latest requirements for power pedestals and to allow certification agencies to certify such products.
