Scope:

Scope

This Standard will cover all types of fluorescent replacement and retrofit TLED systems and will exempt all lamps that do not fit existing replacement sockets, i.e., new lamp configurations.

The scope of this standard is to also be an educational tool by communicating the features and performance of TLEDs to users in a consistent manner throughout the industry.

This document recommends the performance, operational, physical, and electrical characteristics that shall be a part of any manufacturer’s TLED specification sheet. Standardizing the features and performance data to be reported by manufacturers is intended to enable comparisons of key features and performance of TLED sources.

The standard will also address particularities of the Canadian 347V systems, dimmability and connectivity.

Project need:

Project Need
To ensure performance consistency of the various types of double-cap tubular LED replacement and retrofit lamps for existing ANSI/CSA standardized fluorescent lamps across the industry there is a strong need for standardized testing and measurement procedures and specifications. This proposed New Standard is being developed at the request of BC Hydro
