Scope:

This Standard specifies the requirements for the design, manufacture, construction, modification, operation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of passenger ropeways and passenger conveyors.


Exclusions: This standard does not address;

a) the requirements for abnormal or unusual conditions that are not specifically provided for;

b) all prescribed details of engineering and construction;

c) all safety issues associated with passenger ropeways and passenger conveyors

Project need:

A new edition of Z98 Passenger ropeways and passengers conveyors ; the anticipated impact of this Standard is updated safety requirements based on updated technical knowledge to maximize the safety for all passengers and workers.
