Scope

This Standard provides the definition of the term park model trailer as used in the CAN/CSA-Z241 Series. It also gives general safety requirements that apply to the other Standards in this Series.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CAN/CSA-Z241.1-18 - Vehicular requirements for park model trailers

Scope

1.1 Requirement specification

This Standard specifies vehicular requirements for park model trailers, including minimum requirements for the coupling and the tongue or A-frame, and for the running gear of the trailer.

1.2 Standard application

This Standard applies to park model trailers equipped with returnable running gear or limited-use running gear.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CAN/CSA-Z241.2-18 - Construction requirements for park model trailers

Scope

This Standard outlines the minimum requirements for materials, products, equipment, and quality of work needed to ensure that park model trailers will provide adequate

a) structural strength and rigidity;

b) protection against corrosion, decay, insects, and similar destructive forces;

c) protection against the hazards of fire;

d) resistance to the elements; and

e) durability and economy of maintenance.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CAN/CSA-Z241.3-18 - Plumbing system requirements for park model trailers

Scope

1.1 General

This Standard specifies the minimum installation requirements and material standards for a plumbing system in a park model trailer. A park model trailer unit may include a kitchen, or a bathroom, or both as optional features and the requirements outlined in this Standard for such features only apply when applicable.

1.2 Disclaimer

This Standard is not intended as a design specification or as an instruction manual for untrained persons.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CAN/CSA-Z241.4-18 - Installation requirements for propane appliances and equipment in park model trailers

Scope

This Standard applies to the factory installation of propane appliances and equipment in park model trailers.

Note: CSA B149.1 and CSA B149.2 were used as a basis for the preparation of this Standard and should be consulted for installations not covered here.

CAN/CSA-Z241.5-18 - Electrical requirements for park model trailers

Scope

1.1 General

This Standard applies to the electrical requirements for park model trailers that are intended to be connected by a cord and attachment plug to a source of electrical supply not exceeding 250 V between conductors or 150 V to ground and 50 A maximum in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

1.2 Nonapplicable Types

This Standard does not apply to

a) travel, camping, and fifth-wheel trailers covered by the CSA Z240 RV Series;

b) manufactured homes;

c) mobile industrial or commercial structures;

d) transportable housing or other structures for use on permanent foundations; and

e) the 6 or 12 V battery-operated vehicular lighting and brake wiring systems that are covered by CAN/CSA-Z241.1, provided that the conductors of this system are not in contact or cannot come in contact with the conductors of the higher voltage system.

1.3 Requirements

The requirements of this Standard are based on the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. Where no specific requirements are given, those of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, apply.
