Scope

1.1 This Specification applies to complete flue-connected oil burning stoves incorporating oil burners of the vapourizing-type.

1.2 The requirements given herein apply to circulating and radiant room heaters, ranges, and combination ranges, as defined in this Specification. Note: The following related appliances are covered by other CSA Standards: (a) Mobile home furnaces and trailer heaters. Refer to CSA Standard B140.10, Mobile Home Furnaces and Trailer Heaters; (b) Portable kerosene heaters and stoves that are not intended to be flue-connected. Refer to CSA Standard B140.9, Portable Kerosene Heaters.

1.3 The requirements given herein apply also to water heaters, as defined in this Specification, when equipped with an oil burner of the vapourizing type.

1.4 The requirements given herein do not apply to units intended for use with pipes or ducts for the distribution of the heated air.
