Scope:

This Standard applies to complete vent (flue) -connected or direct-vent connected, oilfired steam, and hot-water boilers that are provided with automatic control devices. This standard also applies to oil-fired steam and hot-water condensing boilers.

Project need:

To incorporate new technologies and align the standard with new legislative requirements, such as federal Renewable Fuels Regulations. This New Edition is developed at the request of CSA B140 Technical Committee to update the standard. It provides the industry with technical and performance specifications for executing safe and successful operation of oil-burning appliances.
