This Standard specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system and gives guidance for its use. This document has deviations from ISO 45001 in order to align the OHS requirements with existing Canadian Standards and facilitate harmonization with Canadian OHS regulations.

The anticipated impact of this edition is to enable organization to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance in Canada.
