This Standard describes the technical requirements and procedures necessary for the design, performance and testing of new or unused diesel powertrains for use in non-gassy underground mines.

Project need:

Project Need
Separation of general requirements from engine requirements. Address some of the deficiencies in the existing standards and prepare the standards for incorporation of new technologies and potential direction where the CSA standard will provide value to the industry. Some of the ideas discussed include after-treatment device testing and certification, In-use verification procedures, Fuels review, Deep mine operations.
