Natural gas for vehicles installation code
Scope:
This Code applies to the installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of the fuel storage and delivery system installed in on-road vehicles for use with compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). This includes fuel systems on self-propelled vehicles for the provision of motive power.
Regulatory requirements might supersede the requirements of this Code.
This Code does not apply to
- stationary engines
- mobile equipment using natural gas as a fuel for other than propulsion;
- electronic components of a fuel management system;
- storage or utilization of natural gas on marine vessels or rail vehicles or CNG transportation by tanker truck;
- recreational all terrain vehicles;
- motorcycles; and
CNG vehicles (including their containers) qualified under the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations.
