Maintain a Canadian standard with Canadian testing requirements that will harmonize energy efficiency levels with the higher US DoE regulations. Creating a new edition will support harmonization across provincial 
jurisdictions in Canada.

Project need:

Project Need
The project need is to update the current standard including the minimum efficiency performance levels (MEPs) which will help to harmonize across Canada’s provincial jurisdictions as well as potentially federally across North American markets. This proposed New Edition is being developed at the request of of C402 technical committee on industrial energy efficiency and energy efficiency funders. It will provide the industry with latest MEP levels and other revisions as noted by the committee
