The objective of the Standard is to provide a coherent, standardized, and best practice approach to the terminology, principals and statistical methods required for the estimation of measurement uncertainty in medical laboratory settings

This standard was recommended for adoption are is supported by the CSA Z252 Medical laboratories TC as an important, relevant standard that will help provide clarity and consistency to Canadian Laboratories regarding measurement uncertainty
