Scope:

The object of this standard is to establish particular BASIC SAFETY and ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE requirements for ROBOTICALLY ASSISTED SURGICAL EQUIPMENT and ROBOTICALLY ASSISTED SURGICAL SYSTEM.

 

This particular standard does not apply to:

•             X-ray based image guide radiotherapy equipment (use IEC 60601-2-68)

 

Project need:

To align Canadian requirements with those of international standards in the medical equipment and medical equipment systems related to medical robots, and to support the innovation of new technologies
