Management of work in extreme conditions
Scope:
This Standard specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system for managing work performed both indoors and outdoors under heightened-risk conditions presented by extreme environmental temperatures ( heat and cold), severe weather ( high wind, extreme levels of precipitation), low or high atmospheric pressure conditions, high altitude, and diminished visibility (e.g. absence of light, fog, smog, smoke, etc.). In addition, this Standard addresses risk escalation factors such as those presented by complex terrain and remoteness of the work site.
