Project need:
ULSE proposes a New Edition of UL/ CSA 248-9. This new edition of UL/ CSA 248-9 incorporates several editorial changes including renumbering and reformatting to align with current style. The previous edition was published in year 2000. This new edition will provide a fresher look and feel. This proposed New Edition is being developed at the request of manufacturers, certification bodies, and the CANENA Technical Harmonization Committee 32B. It will provide the industry with a standard Class K fuses rated 600 A or less and either 250 or 600 V ac. DC ratings are optional. This will meet the strategic needs of the following key interests:
- ensuring that the latest innovative/technology/safety features are available for users,
- addressing needs of regulators by providing suitable requirements; and
- supporting certification bodies.
