Scope:

Scope

Load-based testing and rating standard that can fully characterize the energy and air delivery performance of commercial packaged HRVs and ERVs, using a seasonal performance metric, for multiple climate zones. Data critical for creating a full performance map of a tested system will be collected during testing and reported.

Project need:

Project Need
The development of this standard will support the need for suitable test and rating procedures fully describing the performance of packaged, fully featured HRVs and ERVs in North America. It will meet the strategic needs of the following key interest: - Enabling system designers and energy modelers to characterize ventilation system performance and its impact on the hourly heating and cooling loads of a building.
