Scope:

Scope

The performance rating procedure developed should be appropriate for characterizing the performance of any commercially available air-to-water heat pump that is capable of providing space conditioning and domestic hot water using a single outdoor unit, designed for use in the residential sector. In line with other residential HVAC test procedures, the procedure would apply to residential equipment rated below 19.0kW (65,000 Btu/hr) heating or cooling at standard rating conditions.

Project need:

Project Need

To support innovation in the field of residential space and water heating by providing specific testing procedures of air-to-water combi systems. This proposed New Standard is being developed at the request of the regulatory authority category. It will provide the industry with a testing procedure that is more reflective of the climate and the usage.
