Lighting Systems Equipment
Scope:
This Standard applies to lighting systems equipment, either factory or field-assembled, rated at 600 V or less, designed to be used in non-hazardous locations, which may be smart enabled, designed to control various loads (such as CFL’s, LED’s, Tungsten luminaries, motors, receptacles etc) for commercial, industrial or residential applications and intended to be installed in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code Part I, C22.2 No.1.
1.2 These requirements cover:
a) Controls and Power Source Equipment limited to voltage levels below the risk of electric shock
b) Power over Ethernet and other extra low-voltage and low-voltage luminaires and lighting systems equipment.
c) Interconnection architecture with other building management and control systems (such as HVAC, security, emergency, A/V etc…) to ensure overall building systems operation and safety.
