The document will primarily focuses on providing guidance and best practices on interoperability principles necessary for the successful implementation of ETC technologies on Canada’s rail network. The primary objective of ETC systems, is to eliminate, or significantly reduce the probability of over speeding, signal violations, work zone incursions, improperly lined switches, and train-to-train collisions, all as a result of inadvertent rule violations by train crews.
