Information Technology - Vocabulary - Part 16: Information Theory
Scope:
This part of ISO/IEC 2382 is intended to facilitate international communication in information theory. It presents, in two languages, terms and definitions of selected concepts relevant to the field of information theory and identifies relationships among the entries.
In order to facilitate their translation into other languages, the definitions are drafted so as to avoid, as far as possible, any peculiarity attached to a language.
This part of ISO/IEC 2382 defines concepts related to information theory, messages and their communication, basic quantitative terms and derived quantitative terms.
Note: The information provided above was obtained by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and is provided as part of a centralized, transparent notification system for new standards development. The system allows SCC-accredited Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), and members of the public, to be informed of new work in Canadian standards development, and allows SCC-accredited SDOs to identify and resolve potential duplication of standards and effort.
