Project Need
The draft new edition of the Z275.1 Standard was prepared to reflect the latest developments, proven practices and research in the use of hyperbaric chambers for treatment as may be required in diving operations, work under compressed-air conditions, medical treatment, and research. It reflects updated requirements for the design, construction, maintenance, and testing of hyperbaric chambers so as to enhance the safety within the occupational diving sector. The standard was also updated to correspond with updates to related standards in the CSA Z275 series of occupational diving standards and standards as well as with required regulatory requirements within Canada.
