General requirements for Fault Managed Power Systems (FMPS)
Scope:
1.1
This Standard applies to products and component devices of fault managed power systems (FMPS). FMPS are end-to-end power delivery systems transmitting power transmitters over cables to receivers. Instead of limiting the power on FMPS sources, FMPS monitors the circuit in real time and limits the available power under a fault condition.
1.2
This Standard supplement individual standards of Canadian Electrical Code, Part II.
1.3
Individual product standards may specify, as necessary, other double-insulated construction and test requirements because of the particular nature and application of their product.
1.4
This standard doesn’t apply to cables for FMPS. The cables are evaluated to CSA C22.2 No. 356
