Scope

1.1.1

The application of these requirements shall be limited to gas-fired waterless toilets which are manufactured, sold and installed as a packaged, completely assembled, unit.

 

1.1.2

Gas-fired toilets approved under these requirements are intended to be installed in accordance with the Provincial installation requirements or in their absence CSA B149 installation code shall prevail.

 

1.1.3

Gas-fired toilets approved under these requirements shall be newly produced toilets, constructed entirely of new, unused parts and materials.

 

 

Project need:

Project Need

To support innovation in the field of gas appliances and accessories by providing updated requirements for gas fired waterless toilets in the North American context.

This proposed  New Edition is being developed at the request of the Technical Committee and Technical Subcommittee. It will provide the industry with combination gas controls.

This will meet the strategic needs of the following key interests:

  1. ensuring that the latest innovative/technology/safety features are available for users,
  2. addressing needs of regulators by providing suitable requirements; and   
  3. supporting certification bodies.
