1.1 This Part is intended to be read together with the Standard for Fuseholders – Part 1: General Requirements, hereafter referred to as Part 1. The titles of the Clauses in this Part correspond to the similarly titled Clauses in Part 1. The requirements of Part 1 apply unless modified by this Part. For the Part 1 requirements, refer to the Standard for Fuseholders – Part 1: General Requirements, NMX-J-009-4248/1-ANCE / CSA C22.2 No. 4248.1 / UL 4248-1. 

 

1.2  These requirements cover fuseholders intended for use with Type C (Edison-base) and Type S Plug Fuses as described in NMX-J-009/248/11-ANCE, CSA C22.2 No. 248.11, UL 248-11, Low-Voltage Fuses – Part 11: Plug Fuses.

 

1.3 Fuseholders that meet another Part also need to comply with the requirements of that Part.

This proposed New Edition is being developed at the request of manufacturers, certification bodies, and the CANENA Technical Harmonization Committee 32B. It will provide the industry with latest requirement of Class CC fuseholders and improve the overall usability of the C22.2 No. 4248 series of Standards. This will meet the strategic needs of the following key interests: a) ensuring that the latest innovative/technology/safety features are available for users, b) addressing needs of regulators by providing suitable requirements; and c) supporting certification bodies.
