Fire resilient community planning, building design and materials for northern regions including guidance on incorporating climate change adaptation strategies, alignment with existing strategies, procedures for infrastructure site evaluation, best practices for spacing between buildings, sprinkler systems, guidance on fire spread hazards, fire resistant building materials and design features, amongst other important considerations

Project need:

Due to limited resources for dealing with fire in many Northern communities and climate change, there is a need for fire resiliency planning through a standard in the Canadian context.
