Electrical supply track systems for luminaires
Scope:
This Standard applies to track systems for the connection of luminaires to the electrical supply, of 300 V between poles, 150 Volts-to-ground with the provision for earthing (Class I) and a minimum rated current of 20 A per conductor, or of a rated SELV n ot exceeding 25 V with the provision for earthing (Class III) and rated current not exceeding 25 A per conductor. The track systems can also provide for the mechanical support of the luminaires.
This Standard applies to the safety of such equipment designed to meet the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, in CSA Publication SPE-2000.
It applies to track systems designed for normal use for mounting on, or flush with, or suspended from walls and ceilings. These tracks are for the purpose of renting, where, and where, explosions are liable to occur.
This Standard shall be read in conjunction with the sections of IEC 598-1 to which reference is made.
