This Standard deals with the following subjects:

  1. electrical safety associated with health care provision; and
  2. essential electrical systems for health care facilities.
    Note: See Clause 3 for the definition of “health care facility”.

Project need:

Project Need
The Standard is being harmonized with other health care facilities standards (Z8000, Z317.1, Z317.2, etc) to allow for better coordination and traceability of requirements between the standards. Additionally, the Standard is being revised to ensure that all technical requirements are relevant and current.
