1.1 This Standard applies to electric sauna (dry bath) heating equipment rated 300 V and less, designed to be installed and used in ordinary locations in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

1.2 Electric sauna heating equipment may be a (a) sauna heater unit intended for fixed installation in a special room that is built or assembled in the field to conform to the manufacturer's size specifications; or (b) combination of a sauna heater or heater units and a prefabricated, factory-built room or cabinet in which the assembled combination may be specified for field installation, or that may be supplied with a power supply cord and intended to be fastened in place or located in a dedicated space. The room may be arranged so that it can be taken apart for shipment.

1.3 Clauses 1 to 6 apply to the heater unit described in Clause 1.2 (a); Clauses 7 to 12 apply to the combination of a heater unit and the room as described in Clause 1.2(b).
