Scope:

This clause of Part 1 is applicable, except as follows. 

Addition: 

This document applies to grass shears with a maximum cutting width of 200 mm designed 
primarily for cutting grass. 

This document does not apply to hedge trimmers. 

NOTE 101 Hedge trimmers are covered by IEC 62841-4-2. 

Project need:

To develop Canadian safety requirements for grass shears. This proposed New Standard is being developed at the request of industry. It will provide the industry with safety requirements for grass shears.
