The Standard will address civil/structural components of the marine terminal, including the following: 

a) Shore-side abutment; 

b) Access trestle from shore to the loading platform; 

c) Berthing and mooring dolphins; 

d) Catwalks; and 

e) Quay wall structures.

Project need:

Project Need

To primary objective of the Standard is to provide minimum engineering requirements for the design of liquefied natural gas (LNG) marine facilities to minimize risk of failure that could result in a loss of containment of LNG.

This proposed New Standard is being developed at the request of the industry and regulators. It will provide the industry with guidance regarding the design requirements for marine structures associated with LNG facilities. 

This will meet the strategic needs of the following key interests: 

a) ensuring that the latest innovative/technology/safety features are available for users, and 

b) addressing needs of regulators by providing suitable requirements
