This Standard provides requirements and recommendations for the sharing of weather data, including the use 
of equipment and software for doing so.  

The Standard includes consideration, and any requirements or recommendations thereof, of the following 
elements:  
• The maturity of related networks; 
• Current and former data sharing agreements; 
• Current reporting formats; 
• Geo and time referencing; 
• Data validation; 
• Data transparency; 
• Data transfer and interchangeability; 
• Flagging of data, including estimated, aggregated, and unchecked data; and 
• Intellectual property of shared data

This standard will establish a standardized approach for providers and users of weather data to share weather data and also to be able to assess the quality of data that is being shared.
