Scope

This Standard applies to all types of electric cranes and hoists for vertical lifting and lowering of freely suspended load for voltages of 750 V and less between conductors. The equipment specified in this standard is intended for installation in accordance with CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

Note: Examples of electric overhead traveling cranes are: single and double girder, gantry, semi-gantry, portal cranes, jib cranes, monorail systems, hoists, trolley
