This Standard applies to the erection, use, and inspection of access scaffold that is supported on a surface; hung from multiple points, but is not capable of moving vertically or horizontally; or mounted on wheels. This Standard also addresses key hazards, including fall hazards, structural instability, platform failures, and material handling problems.

Project Need
To develop a new edition of CAN/CSA Z797 Code of practice for access scaffold that is updated with current federal, provincial and territorial regulations and codes. The Standard will align with current scaffolding requirements and standards. As training matrices are required for the development and delivery of specific scaffolding activities, this Standard will focus on providing a comprehensive training section with criteria and requirements.
