Scope:

This document specifies additional requirements and recommendations not covered in existing pipeline standards for the transportation of CO2 streams from the capture site to the storage facility where it is primarily stored in a geological formation or used for other purposes (e.g. for EOR or CO2 use). This Standard is intended to apply to pipeline systems associated with carbon capture and storage facilities that are not covered by CSA Z662 Oil & Gas Pipelines and as a supplemental reference to relevant sections of CSA Z662

Project need:

To align Canadian requirements with those of international standards in the carbon capture, transportation and geological storage and provide deviations where the ISO Standard does not meet the needs of Canadian stakeholders.
