Scope:

Scope

Through the benchmark energy factor concept, this BEF standard will provide a unified and consistent method for performing measurement activities and assessment of actual operating system energy performance.

The intent of this standard is to develop uniform methods to measure and assess the overall efficiency of open and closed loop, electric driven pump systems of ‘clean’

water typical used at industrial, institutional, commercial and municipal facilities. The intent is not to prescribe minimum efficiency levels of pump components or systems for manufacturers but rather provide an energy performance indicator of actual operating system efficiency.

Project need:

Project Need
Project need is to support innovation in the field of benchmarking commercial and industrial pump systems by providing requirements for the measurement and reporting of the power consumption and energy efficiency performance of industrial refrigeration systems.

Note: The information provided above was obtained by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and is provided as part of a centralized, transparent notification system for new standards development. The system allows SCC-accredited Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), and members of the public, to be informed of new work in Canadian standards development, and allows SCC-accredited SDOs to identify and resolve potential duplication of standards and effort.

Individual SDOs are responsible for the content and accuracy of the information presented here. The text is presented in the language in which it was provided to SCC.
