This Standard applies to:

  • oil burners of the atomizing-type irrespective of size, firing rate, or type of fuel oil;
  • vapourizing-type oil burner assemblies with a fuel input of 4.5 L/h  or less, intended for use with either kerosene, as described in CAN/CGSB 3.3, or No. 1 or No. 2 fuel oil, as described in CAN/CGSB 3.2
  • atomizing-type or vapourizing-type oil burners that are a part of an assembly in appliances such as ovens, heaters, ranges, and special furnaces.
