ISO/TC 121 covers standardization of anaesthetic and respiratory equipment and supplies, related devices and supply systems - key equipment and systems used in the perioperative setting. Adopted ISO standards provide an important component of the perioperative safety portfolio and are intended to cover: - administration of anaesthetic agents and medical gases to a patient, - conveying the correct anaesthetic agents and medical gases to a device or a patient, - conducting excess and expired gases safely away from a patient and operating room staff, - monitoring a patient undergoing treatment, - respiratory therapy and care.
