This Standard applies to internal quick fastener connection for gas appliances, herein after referred to as an Alternative Connection Means (ACM), constructed entirely of new, unused parts and materials. Alternative Connection Means are limited in size up to and including NPS 1inch (DN 25) diameter and a maximum pressure up to and including ½ psi (3.5 kPa). Alternative Connection Means are intended for the quick assembly of the gas train (i.e., controls and piping) inside an appliance, which is assembled by the appliance manufacturer. Alternative Connection Means are not intended for the direct connection of the appliance to the fuel supply
