This standard describes a methodology for evaluating manufacturers' readiness for integrating artificial 
intelligence (AI) technology into their operations. It covers key areas for AI adoption in manufacturing, 
including strategic AI planning, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity considerations, hardware and software 
infrastructure, information management capabilities, and workforce skills and training requirements. It provides 
manufacturers with the necessary framework, tools and knowledge for navigating the complexities of AI 
integration. 

This Standard is intended for manufacturers that want to implement AI products or services. It is applicable to 
all manufacturing sectors, accommodating organizations of all sizes.

To support innovation in the field of manufacturing by providing standardized requirements for the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the Canadian context. This standard will help in demystifying AI technology adoption in Canadian manufacturing. This proposed New Standard is being developed at the request of Canadian stakeholders. It will provide the industry with the requirements and tools manufacturers can use to evaluate their preparedness for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into their operations.
