Scope:

This standard provides evidence-informed guidance for design, construction and modification. This includes design, construction, modification, different types of disabilities, different levels of accessibility, different types of housing, and considerations for affordability and adaptability.

Project need:

The purpose of this standard is to support efforts by industry and regulators to increase the availability of accessible homes and surrounding spaces, and better allow persons with disabilities at all life stages to live in their homes and communities.
