Scope:
1.1 This standard provides terminology, defines Canadian viticulture areas (geographical indications), prescribes certain oenological practices, and specifies technical and labeling requirements for wine.
1.2 This standards mandatory requirements are expressed using the auxiliary verbs “shall” or “must”; its optional or permissive requirements are expressed using the auxiliary verb “may”; its recommendatory clauses use the words “should” or “it is recommended that”.
1.3 This standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use. Anyone using this standard has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate health and safety practices in conjunction with any applicable regulatory requirements prior to its use.
