Scope:

1.1 This standard specifies the process requirements for the provisions of translation services by a translation service provider (TSP).

 

1.2 This standard does not apply to interpreting or terminology services or to the professional designation of individuals as certified translators.

Project need:

Following review, it was recognized that CAN/CGSB 131.10 is the only standard to include certification of translators as a requirement in the HR section. ISO 17100 does not require certification of translators as certification is not available in most of the ISO member countries.
