Scope

This method determines the immediate stretch and recovery characteristics of elastic fabrics.  Fabrics can be tested in full width or in the form of strips cut from the sample.

Characteristics dependent upon time and upon mechanical or other treatments (e.g. stress decay during static or dynamic fatigue  testing and effects of laundering, heating, and storage, etc.) are not measured in this method.  The procedure can be used to determine the effects of such treatments.

The procedure is applicable to fabrics either in the conditioned or wet state
