Public procurement professionals - qualifications and competencies
Scope:
This standard will contain competencies, skills and qualifications required for public procurement professionals.
Project need:
Procurement for the public sector plays an important role in safeguarding public money and resources. It helps to ensure that the quality of goods and services is maintained and that costs are kept within budget. To ensure that this process is done correctly and cohesively across Canada a need for a standard to specify qualifications and competencies of public procurement professionals was identified by the stakeholders. A new standard is required as currently one does not exist and there is no international standard available to address specific Canadian needs.
