Methods of testing petroleum and associated products - Standard test method for determination of the corrosiveness to silver of gasoline, middle distillate fuels and oxygenated fuels using silver wool: Rapid ultrasonic method
Scope:
This method provides a means of determining the degree of corrosiveness of gasoline and middle distillate fuels to
silver or silver alloys used in fuel system components.
This method also applies to oxygenated gasoline and diesel blends, intermediate streams or blending components
such as alkylate, reformate, and isomerate.
The testing and evaluation of a product against this method may require the use of materials and/or equipment
that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
Anyone using this method has the responsibility to consult the appropriate authorities and to establish appropriate
