Methods of Testing Geotextiles and Geomembranes: Thickness of Geotextiles
Scope:
1.1 This method is intended for measuring the nominal thickness of geotextile fabrics as determined between parallel plane surfaces under a pressure of 2.0kPa.
1.2 Since most geotextiles are compressible, the thickness measured will depend upon the pressure applied. For this reason it may be desirable to measure thickness at a series of pressures and to study the general relationship between thickness and pressure.
