Automotive gasoline
Scope:
This standard applies to four grades of gasoline to which no lead or phosphorus compounds have been added.
They are intended for use in spark-ignition engines under a wide range of climatic conditions.
This standard is not intended to apply to the mixing of oxygenated gasolines and gasolines, either at the point of
retail sale or after the point of retail sale.
Gasoline specified in this standard may contain limited concentrations of aliphatic ethers and alcohols.
Provincial and federal regulations control some parameters included in this standard. Where such regulations
establish more restrictive limits than those given in this standard, the regulated limits shall apply.
The testing and evaluation of a product against this standard may require the use of materials and/or equipment
that could be hazardous. This document does not purport to address all the safety aspects associated with its use.
