Scope

PURPOSE

The purpose of this standard is to specify the minimum design, construction, performance and testing requirements of residential sewage treatment technologies. It also specifies the documentation that is to be provided with these technologies.

SCOPE

This standard applies to technologies used to treat sewage from isolated dwellings.

It does not apply to residential sewage treatment technologies designed for water reuse. It also does not cover the part of the treatment system used for the distribution and disposal of the effluent coming from the residential sewage treatment technology.
